Hey,

just having a debate in my head....cant decide what to get...

I have just upgraded my PC (runnin Cubase SX/Reason/Soundforge) to P4 3.0ghz with a gig of ram so its all good and speedy, and am now thinkin of either gettin a second hand pro tools 001 card (with pro tools LE6.4) or i could keep to using Cubase (which i know better - as i have hardly used pro tools) and buy an TL Audio Ivory 5051 (a valve preamp/compressor/eq) - which mainly would be used to process the drums coming outta my mpc into cubase....

any advice from u guys?

what would u do???

the main reason im thinkin of not gettin pro tools is cuz Cubase has never failed me so far - whereas the TLaudio would make my drums sounds nicer.....

001 is discontinued.. So no more future Pro tools updates, no more free RTAS, no more support.. ( Not that Digidesign has a good, helpfull helpdesk.. They s*ck really.. :? )
Secondhand prices are getting pretty low tho
I never tested the TLaudio. But TLaudio's FX are good and has good convertors.

Why dont go RME? Especially when running Cubase!

i am a protools guy, but i know plenty of cubase heads that say going from cubase to protools was one of the most pointless things ever, if i were u stick to cubase

I have a Digi001. Use it on a Mac though.
It's a nice product.
Nice quality.
And dude was right. You can get one cheap. If you are planning on maxing it out for the next two or three years and getting something more Pro and expensive later, it's a good choice.

The RME is great. Cleaner sound, mo money.

You can use the 001 w/ Cubase though.

Peace and good luck.
