Mpc 3000 sampling question

I have a question for the 3000 users. Im coming from a 4000 and the learning curve isnt too bad. I have the manual and have read it but cant find the answer to my question... In the 4000 i had the option to sample directly from a module or synth by hitting some notes on my midi keyboard, or by pressing play on the Mp's sequencer and sample. On the 3000 can you only sample from a turntable? It seems i cant "bounce" a midi synth phrase into the 3000 because when I go to sample new sound I cant use the midi keyboard or sequencer the only option is from the analog ins. If My midi keyboard controller amd synths are connected to my mpc and i cant use them when in the "sample new sound" window then how do you guys work around this?

A solution is to record your synth sequence in a DAW or an audio editor and record it back to the MPC via SPDIF.

Thats a good idea and dosent disturb workflow too much since it only takes a few extra minutes. Thanks for the advice, im loving my 3000... Peace

Yeah it's much better than just moving the MIDI cable or splitting the MIDI so it doesn't have to pass through the 3k.
