resampling problems

whenever i resample from 16bit to 12-8bit, my MPC freezes...im guessing this is a serious problem, but is there something i could be doing wrong, or is my mpc ****??

Whenever you use the resampling/timestretch options, chop your sample up before doing it. At first I used to think it took forever to timestretch, but now it works fast for me. Resampling does take a while.. I wouldn't recommend doing anything but drum/percussive sounds, and even then, chop any dead air from the sample. Just because you don't hear it doesn't mean the MPC isn't processing the silence. Go into the trim screen and trim.

that "I dont hear that shit sound" gives your track some flavour!!!
