this is a good thread, you should have asked techniques for live play

i started making a live beat in the mpc the other week, and i could almost say you only need a mpc and maybe a kaos pad.
i had the mpc set up so it was very specific layers. i had my sample chops with certain drum hits under each pad, so playing my drums was triggering my samples but in the order my original beat had them in. then i had loops to trigger, bass loop, chorus layer loop, extra percussion loop.
So while it looks like im smashing out a live beat, its merely a simple mpc beat i have made but carefully broken down into playable and triggered loops/ all im really doing is playin some drums

the rest is layered underneath.
then id have a kaos pad on your outs, say out 1 and 2, and have your sample heading to it, and just have a slder effecting the wet and dry so you can turn the koas pad "off" during performance (im thinking live filters - cresendo's)
dont know.
keen to discuss further.
will upload video next week of what im talking bout!
