Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Heath Fri May 18, 2012 12:43 am
I have a 2000xl with Internal CF reader and I seem to be getting this error when the memory appears to be empty. I even purged the memory and still getting this error.

Thanks for any help!

are you sure you don't have a bunch of programs auto-loading on startup? i think PURGE will only remove files that are not assigned to programs from memory. is the MPC loading up files on startup?

do you get the same error if you turn it on without a CF card in the drive? if not, then you definitely have some programs on your CF card set to auto-load.

If I turn it on with no card and hit load there are no files available for me to load. If I boot it up with a card (a new one with 3.5mB worth of samples) and try to load a prg it says it's full. I don't see it auto loading anything upon startup like my 2500 does.

In the root directory of the card are there samples, APS, ALL and PGM files? If so that could be stuff that's autoloading. (Autoload only works from the root directory). Maybe that APS loads up all the PGM's from the root directory.
Go to your load screen and go into SETUP and see if autoloading is on.

Crossings was right. Glad you got it straight though.
