hey can someone tell me what must i do to stop my beat and add a snare roll in and then proceed with the beat?.....i understand song mode will play the entire sequence then the snare roll and then on the next..but i would like to stop my beat in the middle and add a snare roll is what im saying?

put the snare on two adjacent pads and program your roll into the sequence (two fingers on two pads).

note repeat a snare can give you a roll when you adjust timing.

to drop out music/tracks use track mute (this works when the snare is on a track by itself).

you can go into step edit and erase all other notes that happen when the snare roll is played (somewhat programming a mute)

You can't stop the beat in song mode(at least in the mpc 2000 I don't know for newer models), you could do that in your DAW if you use one(mute automation) or do what Lampdog said.

put a 1 bar sequence in your song mode that has nothign but a snare roll in it.. if you need to make it half a bar, double the bpm, etc...

cmon son!!! just figure it out you're not gonna break the thing by trying it out!
