But the same app desktop version is all. Clicky, clicky mouse. The ability to access your iTunes library like say in ableton to drag unto the sample edit or in the future os and audio track to edit seems more like a better deal. My two cents worth.

Yea thats true haze... But i was thinking since the its not a full dj app ect.. The cue and fxs r not really needed, as far as hands on , the qlinks would be fine to use or better yet the jog wheel would be perfect to scroll threw the sample and spin it back and 4th.. One again im not askin a full turntable with all the toys, just the play bAck of a turntable so it can give us that familar workflow for us who sample from vynal. A virtual turntable

Feature request to make the software pads velocity sensitive when triggered by mouse. Clicking on the upper portion of a pad triggers a sample at at a higher velocity; clicking on the lower portion of a pad triggers a sample at a lower velocity. The full velocity range (1-127) should be available depending on where you click the pad.

I don't knw if this has been requested or not yet, but I think Akai/Numark should try to develop or borrow, or somehow license this feature. Its from the Open Labs Neko/Miko keyboard series, its called Mimik, this quote is directly off of their site features list. Its been around for a while.

I like this feature. Arturia's Spark Drum Maschine VST performs this way as well.

And why are you so passionately rejecting an idea for a product you will never buy? Lol

Picked up my MPC 2500 today and installed the JJOSXL. Sent JJ money via Pay Pal and now awaiting for the password. As soon as I receive it, I will start creating projects and programs to send to Akai in hopes support for JJ OS can be added to the Ren...(for those MPC users that use the JJ OS and plan on buying the Ren).

now that'd be something  but this also means Ren would have to support non-destructive chopping :?:

Akai is well aware of JJ and support is highly unlikely. Just like JJ can't legally distribute Akai's code. Akai can't just add JJ format to the list. His code is his property so unless he becomes bosom buddies with Numark it's not going to happen. If his OS wasn't vital to their success of their hardware they would have roasted him long ago.

I have no idea of the legal ramifications..and quite frankly I don't believe anyone here is knowledgable enough on the subject to draw any conclusions.

This is simply a feature request that I believe forum members that use the JJ OS (who don't hate Akai) would love to have. JJ OS support was asked numerous times. Dan never flat out said no. If I recall (after being asked many times)...he said why not.

Now as far as how...being able to load JJ OS files doesn't mean the Ren would have to support every single function. It could simply ignore features it doesn't have. The MPC 5000 can load MPC 4000 files although the 4000 has params that are native to that machine only. The MPC 5000 just ignores params it doesn't have. Another example is the MPC 2500. It has double filters that the Ren doesn't have. When loading these projects into the Ren, they are simply ignored.

So the Ren loading projects created using the JJ OS could be possible.

JJOS projects can be supported if Akai decides to do so. The Project, program, sequence files, are not too different than the Akai OS ones.
