CF card I/0 error

so, went to save a beat last night and the card i was saving into filled up DURing saving

I pulled it out and re-saved to another card but the card that filled up the first time now wont load in the mpc, the folders wont show up, and once connected to pc the pc wont read it either.

guess my questions are:

what are my chances of recovery if i re-format the card?

Has anyone else encountered this?

Is it only due to the card being completely full?

Is it ok for a grown man to cry over losing 25 beats ? - and should i just re-flip everything i made in the last 2 to 3 months.

time for that HDD.........

sheeeit... do you have an external USB CF card reader to see if it works with that instead? i'm assuming not... i've never encountered this error before... but now you got me thinking i should check how much free space i have left before i may run into this...

yeh the CF card reader i tried broke actually, the pins were weak (it was a cheap one)

TRied the CF card reader in my screen, no joy.

Only thing i can think is to reformatt and run recovery program on it.

any help is MUCH appreciated, i give MANY **** about this

i'm assuming if you were able to save to another CF card that there are no bent pins or anything inside of the CF drive... do you get a specific error when trying to access it on your PC? does the MPC drive even show up when you mount the drive to your PC? don't format it just yet... there's gotta be some way to access the rest of the data stored there somehow so you can backup those 25 latest beats...

HD is no better... those can die on you when you least expect it as well...

Yeh well, CF drive is sweet in the mpc, as my other cards work fine still

the error i got on pc when trying to mount was something like "i/o error - card could not be read"

I know. the stuff is still technically on the card, its like a corrupt file when saving occured and now i cant open it.
