did u set ATAPI as primary device in the options?
can't recall now which key combination
maybe reseat the IDE cable (I had to in order to get the CF working)

Hmmm, Right ok.. I'll have a look in the settings but I hope I get it to work soon, I got the note slider to fix yet and that in involves soldering!!

I'll update on how it goes.

I had to fix the note slider as well
It's just few soldering points.
i was hoping it would have been able to send MIDI ccs to control synths and stuff but it doesn't.

I'm having a proper nightmare with this, Theres no opition for ATAPI on the setup page on the MPC.. Just floppy, SCSI 1 SCS2 and F-ROM... None of them work.

I cant find how to setup the master or slave jumper on the addonics.. I really need some sort of online guide here, I've never been gooding at messing around with hardware..

there are only two settings, shouldn't be too hard to set it to master (chances are that it is already set to master)

Its all plugged in but WILL NOT recognize the drive, Says floppy and no ATAPI..

I've tried Sandisk 512mb CF and Sandisk ultra II 512mb and neither work.

Has anyone got any ideas for me? I'll take some snaps to show the setup maybe?!

It is selected as master too.. I am now going to order and try a 1gb card after seeing Jibbers post.

It's my understanding you need OS 1.20, but then again this is coming from the guy that can't get his card reader to work either.

This is unreal, i've been trying for two weeks now!

I've received a 2GB Sandisk card, Didnt work.

I'm gunna order a 1GB and if that doesnt work I'm gunna get another card reader, this addonics one clearly isnt going to be fruitful.

OS 1.14 does NOT work with the IDE CF reader (I've tested it for the heck of it when I was installing it.) You have to flash OS to 1.20.
Technically, MPC-2000XL does not recognize CF reader. Think of the Addonics IDE CF reader as just a connecter between MPC and IDE CF card. A CF card must be inserted before booting MPC-2000XL.

I've just realised I am running 1.14.. I'll try to upgrade to 1.20 and report back :S
