Power Button problem on 2000: will not stay on unless button

Ok,

So I found a 2000, that needed some love. I thought it was not working at all or there was a short in something. But it turns out that if you hold the power button in, it stays on and boots!

I assume I could replace the power adapter, but I am wondering if there is a cheap fix to getting the button to stay in?

replace the switch because the spring or clips inside are probably broken or worn out

I remember buying a button for my 2kxl, as it had no button, but I think it did not stay on very well....

I gotta find that button and see if it works...

I see vst and mpc stuff have power buttons for less than $20, I may cop one, but I assume there will be soldering...

Maybe there is a spring missing?!, I will open her up later this week....

You could bypass the switch all together and turn it on by plugging it in.

You could, but if you are going to go to the effort of bypassing it seems just as easy to replace it.
