Hi I just got a Mpc500

Hi I just got a Mpc500. I got blue box and made program since my unit came blanked out. problem is i cant get a sound out of it....none not even a metro tick
Can any one please help me?
also what format does the samples have to be... I have some wave files .wav

It really sounds like you need some spend more time reading the manual and finding the helpful videos on youtube.

All models come blanked out, you need to put the sounds in. Yours is not defective.

you gonna need an MPC 500 for that homeslice . . .

ok so I read the manual until it drove me nuts.... my problem was that i wrote a program and copied that to my card but not the actual samples. I thought the samples would be written in to the program. now if i could figure out how to play a sample all the way through with out holding the pad down. (like a 3 second lyric sample)

be honest... how much time did you spend in front of the MPC with the manual before jumping on the internet?... 3 minutes? it's gonna take a little longer than that to fully understand how to use it.

sorry to be asking noob questions..... I dont have a real manual for my mpc just pdf ...
im starting to figure things out now that I understand how the menus work. I think Im just going to print the pdf so its easier to read.

PDF is even better than the manual. Type what you looking for in the search and don't be afraid to use some brain cells to decipher words

look man, grab a bottle of red wine (or whatever you crazy mpc impulse buyers drink) sit down with it and some weed and read the manual.

Tip is to have a sample and just go from there. load it, chop it record it. The basics arnt hard mayne/

thanks for understanding. I bought it used and didn't know what to expect at all........ the manual and good weed has been a great help. Youtube vids I found were way over my level of understanding. I guess some of the "vocabulary"was even over my head. I decided like you guys said.....spend time reading the manual. I had to give the whole manual a once over after i printed it and then reference it when I get stuck again.

Thanks everyone, for not giving me the answers....I was pissed at u guys at first for not just telling me what i want to know...but now I understand that i must indeed smoke more weed, read, and make the beats breed....lol.

You've got the best of both worlds with the manuals, Pdf is nice like Ill said because you can perform searches on it and hard copy is perfect for keeping next to the shitter.

Exaaaaaaactly...and don't even worry about whatever you're creating blowing chunks or not, because it's just going to. Good thing about this is no one has to hear it.

Starting out, (with manual in hand, which you have) you will learn WAY more by digging in and messing around with a loop of whatever, than by videos or reading what us turd burglars have to say.
