No disrespect to anyone but PLEASE read all the posts before posting the same type of questions. I feel the need to answer them since some people dont read the previous threads but if they did it would eliminate the same info over and over. I want this thread to have good info and substance but its starting to be just the same thing over and over.

We had discussed the reason for the larger sized bezel. There is really no way around it after 12 designs it was just not do able and this was the thinnest, smallest available. If it tilted it would have been even larger.

As for the non large standard size tilt screen... again :

Sorry guys, honestly there is not much point in a regular tilt screen when you can have an upgraded larger screen. In our experience an MPC user is more out for functionality rather than something cosmetic or so you can see the screen a bit better.

Making a tilt screen also poses the problem with area size (clunkiness) as well, keep in mind the MPC2500 and the 1000 use the EXACT same size screen out of the box and look how much bigger the opening has to be to have the tilt part in it on the 2500.

As for it being clunky, there is not much you can do when adding a screen to a unit that is double in size from normal. As I said before it is admittedly not gorgeous but its the ONLY way for proper fitment.

And to add to it....

To get the idea why this couldn't really work well take a look at the MPC1000 screen (picture below) its larger (by a lot) than its opening. So the only option would be for the tilt to sit atop the casing (much like the new large LCD does) If you add tilt to it, it becomes even more clunky. Not sure anyone wants a clunkier looking top part just to have their standard screen tilt. There would be only two options in doing this: A) Create a new casing with larger opening or B) completely tool and redesign a new LCD screen that is smaller and thinner. Both options would be cost prohibitive, as something like that would be $300-400 for a tilted screen replacement. I dont see anyone forking out that much for the standard screen tilt kit when for around half the price you could have a larger LCD screen with new functionality.

Not trying to say your idea isn't a good one, but its just not really an option due to the frame size of the MPC1000. We could do it at a decent price point using the same idea as the large screens but it would still look a bit clunky and be atop the casing. I just dont see the point in that when we have a better large screen option. Although some guys would like it I would say that 4 out of 5 would prefer the larger screen to the standard one. Overall projects like this cost A LOT of money to do so we have to pick our battles and I think the masses will enjoy a larger screen over a tilting small one. Maybe someday we will rethink this and mess around with some 3d drawings but for now, I think the focus will be on having a large LCD.

Price point should be under $200.00 - still working out some of the overall costs of production compared to price which we wont know totally for a couple more weeks.

Understood.

It's the 2500 screen that I'm interested in. Can you post up some better pics 'cause it looks like the ones posted on here were taken with a Nokia 3210?!

It was kind of on purpose to be honest. That one is the original prototype so it doesn't look perfect and we didnt want pictures of the imperfect prototype to float around over the internet and people think that is the final. I will get more pics up of the production version in a week or two.

Wow! Cant believe im just seeing this thread... that screen is humongous.. it gives the MPs a whole different look..kind a like a splinter cell mobile missile launcher.. Nice work. 1000 owners can now stand up! and sit down :D

My mate Owns a 1000 and he ended up building a foam based screen encasing that that sits nicely on the slot.. screen is still vulnerable but i'm sure his neck appreciates it.. he hooked me up with this link

I was thinking a while ago that a mod built similarly to the periscope concept might work..

similar to this ..

Great stuff MPC-Stuff! I might get another MPC next to my 5000. Are the screens similar to the 5000? i.e. Will they turn purplish after a while?

And are those moving levelmeters in the first pic, page 4?

HHmmm, well thats an idea  good one coin-op. Actually if it is like JJOSXL ect, it represents the volume level of each track. So no they do not reflect in realtime the output and move to the music like you reckon, unless of course JJ has gone all out here, but I doubt it. Not that this is any reflection on JJ, just that I believe this is not the case, but wont mind being wrong though, but will be as per usual I think.
I can so see that idea being asked for now.

Dudes you have done some hot stuff here.

One question for the 1000. Why not have the screen fold flat like a laptop?

I love the whole deal with the 1000 being so easy to stick in a bag and take it out.

Can't stop thinking about this. Screen real estate is one of the reasons I bought the 5000.

I love my 5000,but this is like having constant fights with your girl and then this woman comes into your life you know you shouldn't mess with. But she listens to you and understands you and is always there when you need her :?

btw. I like the way the 1000 looks with the larger screen...

Didn't mean to strike a chord with the pads... Had to ask. I love that you guys are doing this. Getting with JJ was a brilliant idea. I'm really looking forward to seeing this in action.

I love the concept and watching the video to replace an already 2500 screen seems easy enough fingers cross.

$200 is a good deal but I have to save up a bit and wait for reviews.

However, what most concerns me which shouldn't is until I see the JJOS implementation. That is the most important aspect for me really how well its actually integrated.
