I'm glad to hear there are definitely people out there. I've only recently started out on production (bought a 500 a few months back) and seeing as how I don't know anyone else who's into it I'm pretty much working as a lone wolf (except for the advice I can get on places like this forum).

To the people who replied: Do you have friends/associates that you hook up with in the offline world?

I feel like I could progress faster if I started sharing ideas and vibing off other people, but that couuld just be me making excuses for myself so it would be good to hear what people think.

Apologies for the long post and to anyone who gets offended by a rookie daring to look to other more experienced people for help.

Peace

Gheard... where are you at? I lived out in Suffolk for 7 years and had to drive to Cambridge, Norwich, Peterborough and Ipswich to hook up with fellow MPCers.

Check this out for your 500: http://www.mpc-samples.com/product.php/104/beat-making-on-the-mpc500/.

Lived in Didsbury S/Manchester for some years.

Now in Cornwall :D - though via Salford for a bit :( .

Cornwall's a bit better than Salford.

I think you might find that quite a few members on here 'MPC' in isolation and don't know anyone else locally with an MPC. 'specially those members who live out of town.
Also...
A lot of us had to teach ourselves just by reading the manual and experimenting. Didn't have no internet when I learnt my first machine. :)
