Hi,

I am debating between the 1000 and 2000xl but want to make sure I am making the right decision. I have found a 2000xl with a CF card reader in excellent condition so am swaying over to the 2000xl.

I will mainly be sampling from wav files and samples that I have on my mac and will also be sampling from my ipod. And want to create beats on the mpc then transfer this to logic so I can mix it down and effects and also add extra software tracks if necessary.

Will the 2000xl be the best route to go down.

Setup I have is Mac with Logic, MIDI controller and Focusrite Saffire 24 Pro.

Thanks
Matt

i would go with the 1k cause it has usb, you can drag and drop samples this way, you can also donwnload jjos and be miles ahead of anything the 2kxl could do.

Also I was looking at the mpc2kxl app, would this not help my workflow if I was to go for the 2kxl.

Again workflow is another very important factor.

ONLY YOU can decide if it helps YOUR workflow, not me.
Research whatever your interested in and make a decision.

blam!

that was the sound of the cyberslam Lamp just delivered.

dude, the 2kxl is a great machine but if you're asking for advice... i'd look at the 1k. or hold your horses and see what the Ren and Studio have to offer.

Im a 2kxl owner, but i want to further incorporate the vast amount of digital sounds i have and get something to work closer with my computer. So . . . I continue to wait on the MPC Studio. it's not bad value and ticks all the boxes for me.

I see what your saying about the studio and ren so maybe should consider this but I wanted to try and have a standalone piece of hardware that I could work with and think one of these would be a good piece of kit for me to work with.

I mean I know its all down to personal preference at the end of the day but from your experience what would be the best option for me in regards to what I want to do (sample ipod and use samples from my HD/MAC) and for workflow.

Ur missing the point of "it's all down to personal preference". Your personal preference. :!:

It's on you to make a choice. Figure out which one you want and go for it.

Wish I could go for the 2500 but I just havent got the cash for that.

I think its gonna be the 1000, seems to be the most sensible considering the features it has and the vast improvement in memory and RAM.

Unfortunately, you'll still have to read the effin' manuals for either, but its debatable. 2kXL does provide an EASE of use but so does the 2.5k installed with JJ. You'll have to stalk the comparison forums to read up on real users.
