The Ren probably looked good on the drawing board, and would easily look better than the 5000. But.... they stuck it in a plastic chassis & put screws into the faceplate.

Those screws have the same effect as havin a gorgeous babe and then seein that she's got moles on her face ..... the ones that have hairs growin out and everything.
Then all the plastic shit is then like stickin her in a cheezee shell suit with tomato sauce stains down the front. :( :( :( :( bad bad bad.

After that your plain ol' country girl 5000 starts to look a bit sweeter.

Mind you, with the Ren, if she's got a nice voice, that may just pull you back.

The Roland MV - she's just a troll. yuk! Although she may have a wonderful personality

the ren looks like a toy. a wannabe 3000 mixed with high tech shyt
the 5000 is clunky as hell

What mpc model do you own?
Because the 5000 has a way smaller footprint then a 60, 3000 & 4000.
It's basically the same size a 2500 if you put them next to each other.
I just wonder why your so quick to hate on anything Akai does. TBH it's a little corn ballerish how much you hate on Akai.

These are approx:

MPC 5000: 18in x 16 1/16 x 3 3/8
MPC 3000: 17 1/4 in x 16 x 5
MPC 2500: 16.33in x 13.11 x 3.68

The MPC Ren is projected to be the widest MPC....about the length (deep) as the MPC 2500....and the height maybe lower than the 1000.
