anyone know off hand if Recycle 2.0 will recognize the s900? I just scored one real cheap. and can't wait to incorporate it into my rig. BTW the memory is not expandable right?

no it doesnt.

you need Awave to convert your samples to *.SND and then MIDI dump the file. From Awave 2 S900. And vica versa.
Good luck, cause its tricky.

There is also a program called Wav_Akai for Windows that lets you dump samples to your S900.

The latest version of the program lets you create complete S900 programs on your PC and than dump them to the S900. It saves a lot of work.

It also lets you dump Stereo files to your S900. It turns your S900 in a stereo sampler!

The program was written by Bernard Chavonnet. The same person behind CdXtract

You can download it here:

Hi David,

BIAS PEAK.
DSOUND PRO.

Generic MIDI SDS mode, closed loop connections.

They worked last time I tried ...

Rohan,

Are you sure that you can send samples to a S900 with Generic Midi SDS mode? The S900 doesn't recognize SDS. It's got its own Midi dump standard.

Have you ever tried sending a sample to the S900 using Peak or DSound Pro?

Just want to be sure before I invest in one of these programs.

Oops...

Maybe I was thinking of a different S series sampler... :-(

The MPC3000 and MPC60 ( OS 2.XX ) can sample dump to an S900.

Then again: I think they have an in built work around for the purpose.

Not near my studio computer right now which has all my notes on.

I'll check up on this when I get back home in a week or so.

Shall post any additions/corrections/alterations to this thread.

Cheers,

Rohan.

If you mean "wav_akai" that was for Windows then look here:

http://www.chavonnet.claranet.fr/wavs_en.htm

Recognise the "chavonnet" name ??? Same guy who writes the CDXTRACT program for Mac and PC.

As the REGNOW registration service is dead you could contact the CDXTRACT developer directly and see if he is still prepared to sell you a registration code.

Good luck.

Rohan.
