MPC2000 Button Alignment -- is there a trick to it?

Hi,

I took apart my MPC2000 (classic) to install an 8-output expander. I got it installed with no problems and it works fine.

The trouble I'm having is getting the front panel back on. It seems to be "pinching" the top buttons down now -- specifically the buttons on the extreme left-hand side of the front panel. The buttons are clearing the panel holes, but it's like they're pressed all the time.

If I take the front panel off, the buttons work fine. Is there some kind of special "trick" to this? It's almost like the front panel is on "too low" or the front panel PCB is on "too high".
