No sound from monitors

Hi,

I have connected my MPC 2500 using 1/4 jacks from the stereo out on the mic to my 1-2 line outputs on my focus rite saffire 24 but get no sound.

Can anyone help

you could try plugging the MPC into the INPUTS of your interface rather than the outputs...

i know ... read that twice and thought... nope. i'm leaving this one.

Haha what a numpy....bit of a typo. The 1/4 are plugged into the interface inputs.

Any ideas anyone?

Have you had it working in the past? What has changed if you have?

It's worth checking all the connections just in case you've missed something obvious. Other than that it is probably down to a setting in the Mix Control software.

The three lights on the front of the panel need to be lit if you're routing your sound through a computer - Power, FW and LKD. If you're missing any of these it can cause problems.

You still need to make appropriate settings within the software if you want to use the interface without your computer.

checking the software is a good idea, spent ages dicking around the other night - couldn't get anything going into 3/4 inputs, only to find out i'd muted them in the software the night before.

also, just restarting the comp ?

I didnt have it working before but will check the software setting to try and get it working.

If all else fails just give Focusrite a ring. Their technical support is decent.

ok cool, thanks for the advice.

have krk rokit rp5s which are connected to the saffires line outputs and for the moc the 1/4 jacks are to the saffires inputs and these go to the MPCs stereo out.

yeah the krks are good for the money...nice monitors.

im pretty sure the cabling is right so must be the mix settings.

Just realised that the guy in the shop gave me mono 1/4 jack cables and not stereo
