sometimes my pads act funny when im making a beat on my 2500.

just to start off im using jjos 2xl v 2.22

it just started happening again so im gona tell you whats happening right now.

i have a closed hihat sample sample on pad 3, another closed hi hat sample on pad 4,

and an open hi hat sample on pad 7 (right above pad 3)

nothing on pad 11 or 15, the other pads right above pad 3 and 7 respectively.

right now when i trigger pad 3 ( it says im playing pad 7 open hi hat), my program verifys that im hitting pad 7 too, but im hitting pad 3.

and when i hit pad 11 the program jumps to (pad a 15) which shows a blank space, but its triggering a closed hi hat sound.

now when i hit pad 15 it says im playing pad A3, which is my closed hi hat. its like sometimes it bumps all of my samples up a pad for some reason, do you think the pads sensors are wired wrong or going out?

i got it custom made, do you think the guy that made it had messed up the sensors some how?

what do you think i could do to fix this?

sometimes it just goes away and fixes itself, but it seems like its locked on pretty good right now.

have any of you experienced something similar to this?

im actually not sure, i got my unit customized and it came with the jjos, right after i posted this yesterday it was back to working normal, do you think i could just get new pad sensors and it would fix it? is that usually how pad sensors go out? it seemed like it was sending a message to the wrong pad which was weird to me.

it happens less often than more though so thats good.

you mean the physical note numbers that you can see in one of the furthest left columns in the program mode? those were actually saying i was hitting a pad that i wasnt hitting. or do you mean actually miding it up to my daw and see if it is triggering a wrong note that way? i hadnt thought of that, but i will try it out next time it happens.

Hi,
My MPC2500 is doing the same thing. Especially for at least the first hour of it being switched on. Also, seems to happen more if in FULL LEVEL mode and, the only way to get it to hit the right pads as frequently as required in order to successfully make a beat, you can't hit them hard otherwise, wrong key.

What do I need to do? I know that my CURSOR-DOWN sensor (micro-switch) is knackered as you have to press really hard to get it to work. I bought a new micro-switch but found that trying to open the MPC on the top was like a Pandora's box and I got too scared to venture any further.

Any ideas peeps? Thanks for listening - new member too :)

check your pad sensitivity settings first.

before soldering in a new tact switch try deoxit.

spray it in your mouth and inhale deeply, you troll...
