I have an Addonics cf reader that seemed to work fine, but when I save files sometimes and go back to reload them the files are corrupted and cannot be read by the 2xl or the pc when stuck into a card reader....any reason why this may be happening. I'm extremely pissed right now considering I spent 2 days straight working on my SS vol 3 submission and the beat is gone, spent hours of chopping and layering all for nothing.

I've lost data twice, because I was using file names that are longer than 8 chars. Make sure that ALL of the files on the CF card are in DOS name format.
Other thing, never connect the CF card on Mac OS. As soon as the card is mounted on Mac, MAC OS will create invisible files on CF card, which would cause problem on XL.
Windows does not create hidden files like Mac OS X does.
I use Windows XP to transfer data between PC and MPC. Also I use Windows to make data back up of CF card.

maybe you had the same problem i ran into...

it seems everything gets buggy if you rename a folder on your cf card from within the mpc. the pc will not read it and you cant delete it either. I've found the only way to rename it is on your pc, so i set up a few generic blank folders (example 1-9) then rename them on the computer only.

for all the stuff you put in the currupt folder, it will still be there... just open that project back up, save it to a new folder with a new (under 8 character name) folder and you're good to go.

the only way i could remove the folder was to format my cf card if i renamed a folder on the mpc. but it's as easy as selecting all your data on your cf card and dropping it on your comp, then reformat the cf card in your mpc then reload from the pc. 5 mins of time.
