The 808 hasn't been manufactured in decades and its sounds are still used today. In fact every MPC ships with 808 samples. I believe Dan was excited about bringing the old skool 808 style XOX sequencer to the MPC Ren. Yes, this function is available in other products on the market to include Maschine. But its the first in an Akai MPC official OS.

Now that's dope. I don't really like software step sequencers but this gives your more hands on control.

I think the The Ren's going to be the shiznit.

I personally think it's great that companies can give props to other companies gear. It's great when people don't only talk about how dope their own shit is constantly! Kinda makes you more human than just some corporate prick trying to sell your shit!

 I dont know why Inspectah made a big deal out of that anyway. the 808 is an industry standard, not usually in it's original form straight from the drum machine, but seriously try to find a hip-hop, electronic, etc. drum pack without an 808 of some kind.

now if he would've said that about the maschine or beat thang I would see your point

Funny I opened this thread and read that, I just opened up and cleaned my TR-808 for it's annual cleaning. 808 pack, for me, no need.
