Don't take this the wrong way, but you just about everything in the manual has been covered on the forum multiple times, the search function is your friend.

And a less obvious tip is holding the 'full level' button and turning the jog wheel allows you to set a specific constant velocity other than max which is useful. At least it does in XL...

go into GPE, there should be a velocity column (forget if it's called velocity, probably) and by default it's set to 50. use this for program-by-program velocity=>amp control, this is more granular than using full level.

VELO (The curve of volume against velocity is determined.)

When this value is low, by a velocity, volume is wide range changes.
When this value is high, by a velocity, volume is narrow range changes.
When this value is 100, it always becomes the same as a velocity 127.
