akai and midi

hello
im having a problem with my akai syncing with my keyboard..

ok when i lay down my patterns on the mpc and then i add the sounds from the keyboard it plays fine..but when i go to record save the complete song to my cf card the patterns from the keyboard are not there..i have the mpc set to midi, pgm: off, and midi 1A perhaps thats the setup of my cables...also in pgrm mode keypad 9 its sync in: off, sync out:a

can someone help me out

when you save the complete song, do you select (in the save screen) Entire Memory?

The post is seriously vague, but it sounds like you might be trying to record with two seperate sequencers and expecting the 'sync" function to just mush the results toghether into a file on the MPC.

Doesn't work that way. Syncronization functions only affect where a sequencer gets it's clock and stop/start/continue messages from. Has nothing to do with notes, patterns etc.

I'd recomend the midi recording guides on tweakheadz.com. Lots of useful stuff there.
