this feature will allow the user to save snapshots of the current settings (pad/track mixer pan, volume, fx, output settings) The snapshots would be saved to a snapshot file that could be loaded into any project, either the whole file or separate snapshots.

A lot of these things are stored inside the program file format. It sounds difficult to modify it or add something new.

That makes me think I have something to ask. I don't have my mpc at the moment so I can't check by myself sorry. When it comes to FX I always recommend to save entire memory. Did JJ finally add a function to save FX separatly? IF not, I think it could be worth asking and maybe he could implement it easily.

As far as programs go, yes. But if you want to compare different routing+effect settings, quickly, then snapshots will help. You could of course create a program (with the same samples) for each routing/effect setting, and then compare that.

But then we have track volume levels, track effect levels, outputs, pad mutes.
