hey peeps, question about the cf cards for the mpc's

so i lost my cf card that came with my 500. :( i forget how much space it had on it/the speed of it. i do remember before losing it, putting it in the 5000 and it working the same as it would in the 500

my question is

i need a new CF card. mainly to update the OS from 1.01 to the 2.0 for the 5000. im looking at futureshop online to see their stock and im not sure which cf card would be the right one to use. here is the list im looking at basically :

http://www.futureshop.ca/Search/SearchR ... ecure=True

im not sure how much space i need on a cf card to hold the new OS transfer/drums etc. and the speed of it. i dont want something horribly slow, but im also not in any position to buy the fastest, biggest cf card for nearly 200 dollars.

any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. :-D

I just went from my 500 to a 1000 to my new 5000 all in about 1.5 months. I would think any card between 2gb - 8gb will work for sure as I have used these in all three units without problems. 2 were Lexar and 1 was a generic brand.

For the OS upgrade any one will work as it is only a 4mb OS file. There is a bigger file which contains the ROM internal patches which is 64mb but again, any card will work for either of those. I personally think the Lexar are of better quality.

Hope that helps.

nice man! i know the 500 so well, its guna take me a lil bit of time i think to learn the 5000 as well as i know the 500. how you liking the 5k?

and much appreciated brother.

im guessing the 'speed' of the cf card doesnt really matter?

i'll take a look around future shop and probably cop one of the lexar 2gb.

thanks alot bro. ez.
