MPC 2000XL (With 8 Outs, USB/SD/CF/MCD/Floppy Drive) Possibl

Saw this ad in Craigslist for an MPC with a USB/SD/CF/MCD/Floppy Drive but the screen powers up and no OS or anything seems to load. Is it just because this drive is not compatible. i.e. can I scoop this for cheap and switch card readers and probably get it to work?

I know someone else might jump in on this if they want it, but I more so wanted to make sure I am not missing some kind of card reader possibility for my 2000XL that I have never seen used before.

i don't know how they hooked up that drive, but i know that drive wont work in the 2000xl, i would say if it's cheap enough i would buy it an replace the card reader an install a new O\S v1.2, but u will need a floppy drive or zip drive to install a new O\S.

I dont know... if the screen is good, the 8 outs are good... and what ever else (I doubt it has the eb16 in it) but it might allow you to break even parting it out if the machine is ****. Maybe they screwed up on the OS update flashing process and the eprom is messed up.

He burnt up a resistor installing the 8-outs ribbon cable incorrectly which also burns out the pad sensor sheet. I've done that before and my 2000XL looked the same as his with all the lights staying on and screen brightly illuminated. Spent $120 getting it fixed by VST Services 3 years ago.

offer him $200. I have serious doubts that the USB card reader really works.
