Why don't these Producers get any work??

Someone give me a reason why these producers (many of whom are seen as
some on the best ever) Don't get much work these day esp. on major label,but even Indies for that matter.

large pro released an album two years ago and has done cameos.
Pete rock just released an album
buckwild been doin big tracks for a while for "majors"
Diamond D just released an album
marly marl is doing futureflavasonline on the weekends
the beat miners have been doin work for indie groups.

they still doin stuff, just it isnt majorly backed as say eminem.

i think most of these producers aren't willing to compromise their art, or talent, for money. while they do make some of the hottest beats to come outta hip-hop, they dont really make radio friendly stuff. all the big record companies care about is if they can sell something, and truthfully sh*t like this aint easy to sell.

the masses dont care about beats, that's why most "famous" producers are also in most of their songs vocally. ask any stupid dumb@$$ that "knows hip-hop" who pharell williams is, chances are they'll tell u, ask em who chad hugo is, and u get this look

A lot of these cats are Ghost-Producing and eating well, you just don't see their names. Trust me, I know several cats that are getting paid 6F and are "work for hire" with no credits.

and to answer the poster's question...their music is sample heavy and believe it or not it is still hard to get a sample cleared.......when you make money off of it

lol.....if you check the albums you just named....all of them automatically had the potential to make some money....neg. is all about money.....

Who wouldn't clear a sample for:

Nelly
Jay-Z
Kanye West(the guy responsible for works on "The Blueprint")

but best believe some samples are still tough to clear no matter who you are


but you know what?.....prime example: do you think 45 king woulda been able to clear that "annie" track if it wasn't for Jay-Z...the answer is almost a "fu*k no".....or the "dido" track if it wasn't for eminem?.....think about it!

Yes sir and Pete Rock. His new album is the shat! And I still play the Large Prof. in the club. When the croud lets me get away with it.

The girl on the Beatnuts cover reminds me of my ex... I liked the album but none of their work is on par with their 1994 self titled LP... the one everyone refers to as "STREET LEVEL"
