no doubt alot of soft synths kicking hardware. so i just swap over the midi tracks from the midi and replace them with soft if i think it needs replacing.

for stage use, well i personally wont use a laptop, waaay too delicate,
a 3 u rack mount pc, in a sponged rack with a flat panel.
but there some ppl who like to lump around with gear, cause it helps them manifest thier creations.
they look smell, of a rack of gear, flashing lights, backlight vu meters, cables, man tht is the chit for me. unlike a screen tht is mouse driven
think of it as looking at a sexy girl. if she aint hot, you aint gonna get a "hardy" so u might have to well go with "softie" an do the lappy
thing.
its what makes you feel good. thts important. sometimes you gotta let go all convenience, and strike a balance.
this is the very same reason y my studio is currently down, i strikng the balance, i went all soft first time round, and regreteed it dearly
