Hey,

I have a 2500, with a HD inside, but I always am bothered by the fact that the card reader is bad.

One pin is visibly bent (obviously, opening it up and rebending it may work)

Another pin is totally broken off. This is uber-annoying. I was wondering if there was a decent fix, other than buying the $99 card reader replacement, or to just say f*** it...

unbending pin is e z part, broken one is bigger issue, I cant think of a fix for that one, maybe jammin in a needle or something thin alike into the broken pin hole ??...is the problem $100 bothersome ? you still got usb option, but it's painful slow when dealing with large files

I had a broken pin on my 2000XL's card reader also. I tore into an older USB card reader (about $7) and unsoldered the longer pin from the compact flash card slot. it was a b!tch since the solder points for the pin are so microscopic. It takes a pair of tweezers, a soldering pen with a thin tip, a steady hand and just a dab of solder to do it.

Good points all around...

I thought I could maybe take a pin from somewhere, I may see if the whole pin assembly can be removed..

Thanks!
