I always assumed he was employed by Akai Pro Japan and wrote the OS (Original 1000/2500) but when Numark took over they did not keep the original Akai Pro employees on board. (Again, this is ALL SPECULATION.) Thus leaving an unemployed guy with a valuable skill.

As far as we know......

Agree...we all know nothing. Only one side of the story was told here. And you won't find a company like Akai pleading their case in an internet forum. Forum members here should be happy Akai still produces MPCs...companies like MPC Stuff still support MPCs....and JJ continues to develop the OS of the MPC 1000/2500.

I hope that at some point someone does some detective work and writes the true story with interviews on what really happened. That'd be a book I'd buy.

as an ex mpc 1000 owner and an ex 2500 owner I have to say that my interest is just curiosity at this stage.
But full, FULL credit to mpc stuff for coming out with something like this.

Hey guys, quick question. Would everyone want a blue color LCD display or would other be interested in say white color or black color? Just trying to feel out what we should make in the first few batches.

You can vote here - http://www.misterpoll.com/polls/560049 (when you get to the site click on "do not use safe mode" it is an odd interface but it will do the job.

For those that need the colors...

Back to topic: I like the amber on black myself. Easier for the eyeball to focus on.

About that big screen. You should definitely put a huge chunk of ROM inside the screen as a playground for more JJ goodieness! It seems that JJ always has to delete some code when he makes new awesome stuff. Just a thought. :hmmm:
