2kxl not recognizing all wav files on cd rom

When I try to load my program I get a message that it cannot find some of the sound files yet these sound files show up in windows and the wav files are working. I tried loading the files individually on the 2kxl but they don't show up in the folder.
This is happening with all the programs I've tried to load.
I viewed the program file in wordpad to make sure the file references matched the file names and they did.
I made this disk from a download link from this forum because I cannot find my original disk. I tried creating the disk in both W7 and XP, the XP disk was made using a solid plextools program in ISO standard so I don't think it is the disk.
Could my OS be whack? Any other suggestions?

the files are probably 24bit and need to be converted... or the file names are too long... shouldn't be too hard to figure out...

Thanks for the suggestions: all 16bit/44100 and not filename length related.

Upon further inspection, the only wave file that was recognized was 16 bit, 44100 mono, the other files are all 16 bit 44100 stereo files and when I loaded the program it said it could not find the above (stereo) files. Does this mean the program is written to look for mono files or the mpc will not load stereo files?

Hey there Dog! The only difference I see in the metadata is in the bit rate (stereo/mono). The Mpc sees the stereo files and would let me load them and assign them but they are not loading with the program so there must be something in the program reference for the sounds that is telling the Mpc to look for mono files (the filenames are correct according to the way the program reads in notepad).

I'll dig into the program tomorrow to find out what is going on. It is Ambience 1 in the MPC2000xl folder. The next question is, should I change the program or convert the files to mono?

OK, if this is the fix, since I am trying to use the program to play a saved song file, wouldn't I have to know where to assign the sounds within the program to get the sequences to play the right sounds?

You know what, I'm about ready to give up, too. I had a CD that I could just load the program and the sounds would load. I lost it. I downloaded a zip file from a link on this forum, unzipped and burnt it to CD and the program loads but the wav files don't. The audio filenames match the program according to wordpad. I don't understand this stuff because I don't work with it everyday but I'm guessing it's because the files were zipped instead of uploaded as a CD image.

I'm not a beatmaster like you people are. I'm just a songwriting rhythm guitar player who has a little studio that he does acoustic audio in. I'm trying to do a friend a favor by loading her CD songs into my production program. I appreciate your trying to help but I just need to load the drum files, I don't need to become an MPC boywonder and if I don't get it well I probably know shit that you'll never get as well.

I loaded the files into the program and assigned them to the pads as best as I could. It's not right probably because the sounds aren't assigned to the correct notes.

Dog tried to help, you're just a spectator with too much time on your hands.
By the way, from my perspective: too much compression and not enough dynamic character. Also, although the production choices are creative, they don't build to any real crescendo. Because of these two issues, it's nice but it's like an orgasm that builds too early and has no real climax.

Yeah I was a spectator who was gonna throw in my 2 cents and try and help but you gave up before I had a chance to bang out the reply.

You had time to bang out two replies and neither were helpful. This fool has gone through the manual several times in the last few days. This fool tried several different burning methods for the CD. This fool tried the fix suggested by Mr. Dog. I've wasted a lot of time on this to do something that should have taken 5 minutes. I'm sorry if I don't want to waste any more time hoping that you are going to do anything that you haven't already done in your first two posts.
