for now these work for me :
curve A
Velo. Sens: 25
Press. Sens: 25
Pad On Level: 6 (yes 6)
( i like the concept of using the pads as piano keys rather than as percussion skins; and also it is easier on my fingers)

still trying to figure out whats best...

there are differences in the code that interprets the data coming from the pads in the newer JJOS versions, right?

are there visual representations of the difference between the velocity curves anywhere?

be interested to see those. i feel like i've seen em somewhere but can't track em down now...

I couldn't find the graph on the english manual quickly so I took a printscreen of the japanese manual :

Image

x-axis is strength and y-axis is velocity.

Personnaly I'm on the default A velocity curve type.

I have a DIY pad corx so I set my own global preferences in the dedicated menu in JJ OS (because I tend to always have the same layout for drums program). Then for further adjustments I use the VELO function in the AMP tab in GPE.

I think it really depends on user preferences so there's no magic recipe.

dont quote me, but i use the shitty pads, and i have mine set to pad on level "1" and the rest to 15, I THINK.

not entirely sure, but this works well for me (i can get volume to sound "live" by playing normally on the pads / no full level on.

Curve A with those same 25 settings. I have to check my pad on level but definitely not 6 :)

Still it's dope that JJ expanded these settings as clearly we all have different preferences.

I have stickers underneath my pads to fill out the gap (I think it was poundaproblem who first suggested this - but i could be wrong).
My settings are: Curve A, Sensitivity 24, Pad on level 1.

Yep thats right pad on level 1 - I never have accidental double hits. I don't know whether the new pad sensors are different from batch to batch, but pad on level 6 would do my head in! It could be that stickers respond differently to corks though.
I do get double hits on my MPC60 from time to time though, I have to adjust my technique between machines. I actually prefer the response on the 1000, especially for things like paradiddles between fingers.

Peeping Tom, I'm almost positive it was Pound who posted the colored sticker fix. I had done it on my currently Fat Padded MPD32. I just offset the circles as i added more to increase the contact area. After a point the stack of stickers gets a bit conical and you have to stop but it did help. The gap on 1000 pads is about the same as the bad sensor array mounting on the MPD's so it should work.

Try for stickers with really good adhesive. I used some basic ones from Walgreens (neon variety pack type) and the glue dried off after a point. A 1000 would be hotter and accelerate that.

It's all over these forums but the Fat Pads are worth every cent on a MPD or 1000.

I got an extra pad fix kit in the box. I'll give an open box price as it has been slightly used, it's in pristine condition though. If you're in the States PM me and I can get you flicks of the joint.

Whatever man. I bought an extra kit when I bought a barely used 1000 that I was told had no upgrade it and did. I swapped out the near mint for the mint ones.

Only thing jaded is your response, I was simply offering a forum member a deal. I would of done them at half retail. Maybe next time just say no thanks bro.

Yeah I come on here to run game on other members....sure man.
