This may be a bug with JJ OS1 Version 4.99. Sometimes the copy and paste function in step edit mode will either paste only one step, previous copied steps, or not paste at all.
This is getting pretty annoying especially when forming drum patterns. Any thoughts?

i have same os. i have NOT had the problem you experience.

I have noticed while editing in the step editing window, after moving sometimes the window hangs (even though it should be closed) but by hitting main then mode +step edit it takes you back and the freeze is gone.

Also, try using a one bar loop if your doing some technical unquantized pattern, and copying the entire sequence to 4 bars after, then edit for change ups. will be less step editing.

1. reset your mp, hold Erease while powering on
2. is it happenning on 1 project or any?
3. what's the size of "ALL" file you workin with? (if you're reachin note capacity weird **** like that can happen)
4. if sequence alone is heavy (size is big) lag in basic operation can occur

does the hold Erase while powering on only apply to initial installation of OS/JJ OS or does this need to be done every time I power on the MPC?

This 'bug' seems to happens on any project. I can work around it with SEQ edit but it would be handy to use step edit copy/paste.

Not everytime you turn on machine, just once, everytime you change/upgrade os version.
If it happens on every project could be the buttons are not responsive. Are they ok in other modes?

I use JJOS1. V4.99. mpc 1000, the BK model.

I never have this problem. EVER. i use copy and paste in the SEQ window pretty much as often as i make a drum loop. which is everyday almost.

Doesn't seem to be a global problem dude, just a one off one, a reset might do the thing.

Have you got the ram upgrade?

I'm on the same OS as you, and I have updated RAM to its highest capacity of 128MB.
How do I perform a reset, or is powering off the MPC the same thing? Is it worth re-installing the JJOS? The copy and paste issue is the ONLY problem I've had since updating to JJOS, everything else works fine.

yeh id say its just a one off man, googling the problem doesnt bring back too many results for the issue.

i think you hold erase while turning the machine off, just check the jj os page, and im failry certain you wont lose nay passwords or previous versions etc.

Check the info regarding resets but im certain you retain your jj0s1 and password.

Remember, once you reset your screen might go dark, hold STOP and turn data wheel :P

Cheers for the advice. I held down erase when I first booted up JJOS, and did the same a few days ago. I'll let ya know if it resolves the issue, otherwise it's back the notebook like Canibus!
