AKSYS PROGRAM MAKES SOUNDS UNUSABLE WITH HARSH STATIC...

Sorry to bump this old thread but I am having the same problem.Static noises when files are transferred to the MPC,although when I transfer from the MPC to the computer it's fine.
I am also running Windows 7 Pro with virtual XP. I was using the usb port in the front but it broke so now I can't transfer files into the mpc that way.
I will be getting the usb board fixed but is there any way I can keep working and use aksys without the static noises?

Anybody that is running Aksys on Win 7 in XP mode is truely a lost cause... Why? There is something that goes haywire during any transfer to Aksys. The phenomenon has been discussed before but NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE has given me, or anyone else for that matter, a straight answer. I suspect it has to do with the way the Virtual Machine in Windows7 processes at the binary level. It will transfer the data but with numerous errors, which in turn, causes that glitched sound everyone is complaining about. The worse is when you think it is transferring and you hear that DING from the USB error!

I am fortunate enough to have an XP/Win7 dual-boot setup and in legit XP I have moved 8GB of sounds in nestled folders in one pass with NO ERRORS!!!

You can find an old PC anywhere now-a-days for less than $100, that would be easier than trying to get Win7 to dual-boot. (Trust me)

The only thing missing from the 4000 is direct PC connectivity. I'll say it once and I'll say it again.... I will PAY with REAL MONEY for an open source/alternative Aksys replacement!!!

Cool thanks for the info.My last hope is that I can use the usb port(instead of the front) in the back if I get an adapter but idk if that will work.
