Time and time again? Come on guys give me a second to breathe. With 10 questions sometimes I will miss on here or there.

I guess I dont understand the question because most lcds have this. Its just a matter of if you notice it or not. Its just part of the screens themselves pixels dont go all the way to the edges. MPC1000 and 2500 are the same way you just dont notice as much because they are not inverted and they are behind a deeper window on a green screen. People that have black ones or blue would see it more. You can see it on the 4000 quite perfectly in the picture below. The 5000 you can see it too but they also are hidden a bit by the inset windows.

Out of curiosity, what does this have anything to do with functionality?

The first production run of the 2500s will be done very soon and I will post the video of the full functionally. It will be done in the next 4-5 days . There is nothing wrong with the functions of this screen, no matter what people try to point out :)

I still want to know if the "free" JJ with this screen will result in downgraded functionality from XL. Irrespective of whether OS3 is in the works.

appreciate the answer but you seem to take it bit personal, I simply asked if it can be eliminated n that is all.. never doubted or second guessed its functionality....it's purely asthethics matter

The new screen brings in a whole different JJ OS set. So its kind of like having two different units in a way. Before the OSes were for MPC1000 and 2500. Now you will have two more sets of 0Ss for MPC1000XLCD and MPC2500LXCD. So JJ will now have 4 OS sets.

For small screens:

-OS3 is still in the works, and when finished will be for when upgrading from OS2

For large screens: (separate versions for 1000 and 2500)

-OS128 will be the FREE one that comes with the screen when ordered ( I will demo this one in a video)

-OS128XL will be the first edition of the paid JJ OS for the XLCD. (as for functions I will have to talk to JJ more about it as I am not 100% sure yet what all is going to be incorporated in the first go around)

Sorry, if you thought I was upset. I was not. Looks wise its just not an option as it wasn't for Akai when they built their units, unfortunately its just the way LCD screens backlighting generally works.

Please find out this information as soon as you can. This will have a major impact on whether or not I purchase the new screen as soon as it is released.

I'm all for this new screen - but if my OS-XL (that I already paid $$$ for) will have any less functionality than it does right now, I will stick with my little screen until the matter is sorted out.

I understand these things don't resolve themselves overnight.

I appreciate everything you guys do. :)

no problem boss  , but that's all you had to reply with, Im no LCD wiz n not got no clue what goes behind the scenes to make 'em work. Hence the reason I asked the question...as the sayn go "close mouths dont get fed"

does this mean those who pruchased JJXL2/3 will have to purchase a version supporting the screen, or they get a free pass to OS128XL :hmmm: or support for the screen will get incorporated into JJXL2/3 :hmmm:

wow. this seems to be a really complicated way of doing this. a TON of extra work for JJ.

i can say for sure that anyone currently rocking OS2XL is not going to accept reduced functionality in the OS just to get a bigger screen.

i was under the assumption that when OS3 dropped, it would be a step up from OS 2XL of course, and would also contain support for the new screen. so it would be the same OS with the same functions if you have the small screen, and a much better UI if you have the bigger screen.

but if the OS for the new screen doesn't have all the power that OS 3 does, then i'll have to pass on the new screen and stick with the best OS. JJ should streamline this somehow so the whole OS situation doesn't get more confusing than it already is. just go with 1 OS with an 'expanded' mode you can switch on if you have the new screen installed.

I totally understand where you guys are coming from and we will get everything figured out for you. No reason to panic. :-D

BUT, If we can...can everyone please refrain from speculation. Speculation in posts really gives the wrong info to people that dont read the full posts and realize its speculation rather than a fact. We will have answers soon. I am quite sure (although havent spoke to JJ yet in depth about it, so no guarantees) that the PAID JJ OS128XL will have most if not all the features of the new OS3. Admittedly, the free OS that comes with the screen will not but we all could have expected that.
