i just checked out a gary burton cd online and he really got some real sick shit for sampling. And the good thing is theres no vocals or drums so this makes it even easier to sample.

occasionally, i stop by this forum just to see if you guys are still talking about Gary Burton. forgive my beat-diggin' snobbery but its freakin' hillarious!

rock-on (and venture/dig a tad bit deeper, the well runs deep, deeper than g.burton)

One thing that really gets me is the snobbery of some of you guys... Not everyone began digging 15-20 years ago, and anyway, surely its a good thing people are still preapared to dig at all these days instead of ripping off a triton preset. And another thing: does the forum say 'Crate Diggers for experts only' - NO it's free for everyone to join in and hopefuly gain some knowlage - some people need to stop getting all high and fekin mighty about it and stop slammin every newbee who posts a thread. If you dont want to share your knowledge then dont, infact why wouldn't you, because I thought that was the whole point...

If that was directed toward me in any way let me just say that I'm not a snob.
And after I rip a newbie for being ignorant, I always follow up with some helpful knowledge on the subject. There is evidence of this in all of my posts.
Being a newbie is part of payin dues. And part of payin dues is to get schooled every once in awhile. It happens to the best of us, even me ha ha.

all serious diggers are nerds! even if they think their cool, or you think they're...still a nerd. all the big willy collectors and most anyone w/ knowledge and heat>>>NERDS.

i'm digger, got heat, work at a record store, dj, make beats, ....Nerd...but i don't associate nerd'om, know-how, and knowledge as a bad thing or having negative connotations.

>btw, i was just clowning early on the Gary Burton post i made. I'm not mad at ya! .....i remember the first time i dug up Gary Burtons "a geniune tong funeral" and buggin over how hot it was, only to hear Nostalgia 77 use it (and not really the well, bastard..LOL).

you don't have to be a nerd to know how to spell knowledge, but i think it was just a typo because he spelt is correctly later on

I called him a nerd for even bothering to pick up on the spelling mistake, it's a forum not a damn classroom. Being a nerd is not cool either, grow up meet someone of the opposite sex and maybe have kids - you'll realise there's more to life than diggin through mouldy records and sittin on your computer slammin newbies every chance you get...

(braces himself from torrent of abuse from the nerds)
