I'm looking to get a turntable for my mpc 500. What turntables do you guys use? Name of brand, model, and price would be valuable info. Thanks!

A belt-drive Akai. It does have pitch control.
Doesn't really matter what kind of turntable u sample from. As long as you u have a proper needle and pre-amp/ dj mixer.

Menco tells the truth.
I use an older Gemini PT-2000 (built tough, bent arm)
and a
Stanton str100 (these are excellent lots of functions, straight arm)
I wanted both arm types to see which I liked better and then realized that it is more versatile having it this way. I turn my tables so that the arm is opposite me.
I use Stanton needles (cartridges) in both turntables. One has slightly more low end to it than the other. I do not have the same needle type in both decks.

A Technics 1200 that I actually dropped a 100+ lb speaking cabinet on. I was actually able to bend the tonearm back to a useable state. Even with the tonearm not set right and even a bit crooked it still tracks the vinyl almost perfectly.
With the prices going up since the discontinuation on 1200/1210's I'll probably get a Stanton STR8-150 or a Numark TTX for a second deck.

I had a numark ttx usb turntable (typical DJ-Player, and i am even not a DJ 
)
for a while, and replaced it with a Pro-Ject Player:

Makes a whole new world, no joke, compared to the pro-ject the numark sounds dull and flat, now i hear frequencies on the whole audiospectrum, the drums sounding way more fatter also....
i resampled most of my stuff already with the project...
so my suggestion is go for sampling for a decent hifi (highend)-turntable instead
for a dj-player or at least change the stylus for a decent hifi one.

That's not surprising, any of Pro-Ject brand turntables are far better products, compared to those "DJ" USB turntables that are sold nowadays, that you were using before.
Cost effective way to get good sounding turntable to listen and sample is, look for used turntables and a receiver (for phono preamp) in decent condition. Those home audio units from 70s' and 80s' are far better quality than those cheap USB DJ turntables. Check theft shops, or flea market for those.

I got Numark TTX and I'm glad of it 
You have to think how you will be using this turntable - if it's just for sampling, you don't need PRO turntable. You will need a good needle and that's (more or less) it.
If you want to scratch and add some cuts, babies, etc. you definitely need better turntable with direct drive. But for scratching you will also need better mixer.
I use Vestax PMC 05 PRO III and it rocks (it's kinda legend).

I've seen many hifi turntables (a friend collected this stuff) and many of them were great although 20 or 30 years old.
