Static sounds from mpc

Sometimes when i turn on the mpc it makes static and white noise glitch sounds and usually doesnt go away until i turn it off and back on. any idea what this is?

maybe your ram has become loose or such...

Sometimes, yes. Cels forever send and pick up data, even when not in use. At our job, we have a clock radio that picks up cell waves before any of our phones start ringing. It'll be like white noise over the radio and we joke like "uh oh, your wife calling!" and a few seconds later one of our phones will ring. Its a great conversation piece when new female workers come in and I be like "He's calling you" then they look at me all weird until their cel rings and they speak to whomever on the other line, and they hang up and say "how'd you knew? wow!" then I have them suck my dick and tell them to call me Jombee, mekkalekka Hi mekkaheiny Ho.

maybe its because you have all that other equipment around and stuff, or can it interfere with just the mpc itself? i was using it with my phone trying to test that out but i cant really seem to recreate the sound it happens for no apparent reason right now. how do i check if my RAM is loose or anything? i checked it and it seemed tight.

All hardware, digital or analog, complies to FCC regulations. So any device will be slave to the military tech out there. When I used to live by the sea port, my little radio would pick up sonar frequencies like morse code type of signals.

All devices are made this way to prevent interference to military and government equipment. Our consumer devices will take a hit all day.

Cel phones were once military communicators and the signals are so strong that it can send airplane equipment bonkers, by now this problem should be fixed but 10 years ago, a flight attendant would order you to turn off your cel phones.

I used to play beats for girls over the phone and I remember this AM radio static coming through my speakers but when I walked a few feet away from my set-up, everything was kosher, but as I returned the static would rise again and it was just the MPC connected to the amp and speakers, no mixer between. Because of this, I always kept phones away from my studio, and make a big deal about it when guest are over.

makes sense, did you ever get permanent effects or damage to your MPC from it? or is it just the temporary interference?

my old 500 did that too sometimes. didnt seem to affect anything though.

Sounds like a RAM issue.

Try holding the RAM in place when you boot the MPC up, if it boots normally then it may be an issue with the RAM bay or the notoriously flimsy plastic clips.
