Sup guys,

I want to buy some Studio Monitors for my MPC5000.
Please tell me what do i need to make it work + which monitors do you recommend?

Thanks in advance!
Mitch.

Id say go Yamaha (used by Pete Rock and 9th Wonder), or Rocket. I am sure you will have many other suggestions, those are just my recommendations.

What ever set of monitors you buy you will have to learn them. Go to a store and listen to the ones in your price range. Bring your favorite cd or better yet bring your mixes. The one that exposes your mistakes is the one to buy. Do not buy the one that makes your mix sound lovely.
That said, just know that you do not necessarily need a sub woofer if you huy monitors that are at or over 8". Don't make the rookie mistake of buying the largest ones (like Dynaudio BM15A's) for a tiny studio and sit close to it, because those are meant to be played loud and in a good space, you can mix just as well with a smaller version. If you have a nice studio room then go ahead and get the big boys.
Cheers,
ian

Yamaha ns10's or hs50m or hs80m?

Ns10's are used worldwide for referencing. Mate has a pair of the hs80m's which he reckons sound pretty good - flat well rounded response.

i believe ns10's require amp (bryston or similar, something like 500 watt i think)

where hm80's are active, require no additional amplification.

Guess it depends on amount of room you have, what you prefer to use and the amount of dosh you have.

id prolly go a pair of KRK's

Hs80m are the ones I was suggesting. I like those over most KRK's. Not that I think they are bad..... I just feel from a mixing standpoint, the Yamaha's offer a better/flat response.
