is this sequencer/sampler configuration possible?

Ive been trying to work patches from my mpc to get a more realistic drum kit by taking the same recording and isolating 16 different bass hits 16 different snare hits etcetera. I really like the sound of it, gets a little more lively but it gets to be a bit overly complicated to just play a simple pattern. I was thinking there ought to be a way to get it so I have a single pad for all the bass sounds, every time I press that pad it will be a new bass sample.

I hope I described it well, does anyone know a start of how I could patch this up or of a computer program that can do this?

He is using JJOS specific features to achieve it though.

As far as software or just in general "round-robin, sample-cycling" are the terms that will help in a Google search. It's a very common feature. Kontakt, Poise VST, Reason's Kong to name a few all have ways to do this.

It won't be a single pad but this is close to what you want.

you can set jjos to trigger different samples with same pad based on how hard u hit the pad

newest jjos2xl has this "cycle" feature. i think u can only have 4 samples for each pad though.
