I never owned that Gemini Lamp posted but I believe it was the first hardware sampler I ever used when a friend borrowed one.

Man, I thought my ASR was in good shape that one looks minty.

I still fail at posting pics here. (walkthroughs are welcome but I'll refer to older posts where people tried to help me figure out what I do wrong, obviously the issue is my stupidity :) )

A TR-505 was the first thing for me, unless I count some rudimentary music stuff I had on the C64 computer. Sorry again for no pic but a 505 isn't much to look at or hear anyway.

The synsonic drums was 1980.

the gemini was 1992.

the asr10 was 1994.

The asr10 pic is not mine, I found it on the web somewhere.

@ met, all you have to do is quote my post and see what I did to post up the pic, easy.

Thanks Lamp, I'll peep the proper link bracketing, I always end up with [link], but I'm sure I'll figure out. I got an A in Comp/TIA so it's all a bit embarrassing.

I might have used a different Gemini, it was before '92. I remember it having 15 seconds sample time, 3 five second ones or one 15 second I think.

first keyboard/synth/sampler was the SK1...

had some oldschool keyboards after working at a Value World second hand mart later

finally broke into hardware after like 10 years of all computer and got the ESX. I was actually sort of worried I wouldn't be able to do anything that deep, or fancy, or express myself in an articulate way with the Korg, but it really was a great machine to start with in the hardware world. I don't think after all the songs I've done with it that I could ever sell it. it's just too good!

I knew soooo many people with a dr-550. One of my boy traded a 550 for a dr-5 and he let me use it, I made many dope beats on that thing, I've even considered getting one from somewhere, it was so fun to use.

I even went out and bought the sound collections for that thing!
