Mpc 3000 stereo out to S3000XL fx input

I have an MPC3000 and recently bought a cheap S3000XL with the FXs board. I was wondering if anybody has used the stereo input of the S3000 connected to the stereo output of the MPC as an external fx unit (reverb, flanger, distortion etc). Inside the S3000 the fx can be then routed to any pair of individual ouputs. Anybody has found this type of connection useful? Any latency issues? Thanx

Nope but have considered picking up an SP-404 for this (don't need any more new 'things' in the studio right now though!).

You might do better to connect to the S3000XL to 2 of the MPC 3000's individual outputs instead of the main stereo outs - use those like an fx bus so you're not just applying fx to everything in the 3K. At least that's how I'd probably set it up..

That's a good tip! the connection to a pair of individual outputs as an fx send instead of the main stereo mix.
I thought of this combination for live use. Using the S3000XL as sampler for melodic instruments sequenced from the MPC3000 and doubling as an fx unit for its own internal sounds and as insert fx for the MPC 3000 drums.
