Anyone got a external zip drive they wanna sell me? I bought a broken one On eBay. And I really don't wanna pay 170 bux on mpcstuff, that's just an insane price.

cf would be a much better investment. But you may have zip disks already right?

yeah Lampdog is right it would be better to buy a CF Card reader, thats the only reason ive got a zip drive layin around, an cf card readers are silent no movin parts plus they load quicker than a zip drive peace.

My internal zip was still working in my 2kxl when I bought a cf reader. I also had a usb zip for my computer.
I ALWAYS formatted my zips FAT in win xp and used 8 character filenames. My computer AND 2kxl could read the zips with no problems. So before I changed completely to cf I backed up all my zips on computer. Switched to internal cf reader and it was honestly the best thing i could have EVER done for my 2kxl. I now have OS1.14, 512mb lexar cf and I've never ever had a single problem using cf's at all. Mine is ATAPI (hotswap capable) which I understand now is hard to find.

Exactly. I already have a cf reader in my xl. But my previous xl (which I still use from time to time) has an internal zip, so I need am external zip for my cf xl cuz all my sounds are saved to zip disks and I don't wanna resample all those drums from records or my other xl.
