How installing RAM in MPC3000???

Im gonna have a 32 RAM memory for my MPC3000 and would like to know how to put them in myself....

There is something about this in the Appendix part of the manual, page 229 ( http://www.akaipro.com/archive_doc/MPC3 ... Manual.zip )

You open the MPC3000 by unscrewing some of the screws on the MPC's sides an back. You then flip the top upward (make shure you don't destroy any cables) and put the two 16MB-RAM SIMMS in the two empty sockets.

You can see them located in the middle, on the right for the floppy drive:



After installing the new RAM you remove the old Akai memory board (the one with the red ring around it).

It should be really easy.

That's not the right spot that's for the ROM. You said 32mb of Memory right? It's the yellow spot that I circled that you need to take out. You jsut undo these clips that are on both sides they are really easy and pull the to SIMM's out and put the new ones in.

Deck Daddy's explanation was correct.

The red circle is NOT surrounding the ROM's ...

The red circle placed on the picture by Deckdaddy is surrounding the EXM3002/EXM3008 AKAI memory board which must be removed after fitting of the two 16 megabyte SIMMS. ( as stated clearly by Deck Daddy )

I installed my ram but my sampling time is still low. The rams gold tips seem to have slid in but did not clip on to the sides and now I cant seem to get the ram out

It’s probably unnecessary, but here’s a photo showing how to remove the EXM3002/EXM3008 AKAI RAM. There is 1 screw to be removed (circled in red) – then you gently pull the board away (in the direction indicated by the red arrows).
