triggering module sounds from mpc

Am about to get a yamaha motif rack and roland JV-1080 rack , what i wana know is if by having everything hooked up via midi i can be able to trigger sounds from the mpc pads ( lets say I wana put a kick and a snare in each of the pads on the mpc and then the outputs from the modules go in my protools 002 rack ) Am assuming this is this is how it works, I haven't messed with midi stuff too much , only connecting my mpc to the 002 protools rack. So if someone can fill me in with some info I would appreciate it. Also let me hear some input on these racks as far as sounds, functions , etc.

Yes, u r on the right track.
MPC stands for Midi Production Center.
Of course it can trigger via MIDI.
