Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

Guys, yesterday my dream came true: an MPC2500 arrived!
But what a big was the disappointment when I discovered that some buttons are not working at all!
It is: F4, F5, F6, Pad bank A, B, C, D (are not lit), Q1, Q2 (are not lit too), and the data wheel.
I unscrewed the plates and looked inside with a tester and rang these buttons out, and it seems that mechanically they are ok.
All these buttons are placed on completely different boards, so I think it's unlikely that it is the transportation that caused this breakdown (though it was transported all over the world to come to my place).
Help my please!
It's my childish dream!

Thanks!

personally I'd ship it back, sounds like whole a lot wrong with it...if it was just the tact switches or broken buttons then cool. but if no connections loose who knows what's wrong with it...now you looking at cost of repair instead of making music with it

probably the tact swtiches, you might need to re-soldier some of them. where did you get it from? can you return it?

Is it them damn switches again.
This is an infamous MPC problem & lots of us go through it Flamb

If your MPC has any kind of warranty then return it.

If not you've got a bit of work to do but it'll be worth it in the end.

Although from your description, too many things have gone wrong at the same time, so it may be that some of the connectors may need reseating. The data goes through the Blue Flat Flexible Cable at the bottom of the Right Hand Side Board, the other boards are still connected to this one I think, accounting for the multi board frustration.
