$200 bucks less? Thats a good way to kick Akai in the nuts.

Now that the Maschine is that much more affordable I think more people will decide to grab it over the Studio and possibly the Renn as well.

I actually think they Native Instruments is bringing out something new.

Yes I would agree that that seems to be the case because how else could you explain the price drop.It 's also a stand alone exactly what folks seem to say is missing with the renn i mean I love my Mpc and MV but Im thinking this is worth a look.plus it's now at a just for fun price :-D my thought is that you can never have too many tools when your're doing a job!..

I still don't like the controller. Sometimes I feel like taking a knife to the Maschine pads and stab them a hundred times, then splice into them.

So does that mean the Mikro will be $199? :o

huh? that is completely not what people mean by standalone (what do you think standalone means?) the standalone people are talking about when referring to the ren is the fact that it NEEDS a computer ... it must be connected to one in order to work... the reason people talk about that is because MPCs never needed that before.

Yeah what do you mean standalone?

The unit will not work without the software but the software will work without the hardware.

In another thread someone said its only until August 1st.

how many people do you think are going to purchase maschine after aug 31st? :hmmm:

After seeing maschine for 399 for two months, i think that if they try and raise it back up to 599 it's going to be tough to sell. maybe it will be 499 after the sale is over.

Okay maybe I was excited and misread the article but at any rate 399.00 is not a lot of money for what you get and the Maschine like any other tool it's only as good as the person who uses it.. I agree that lowering the price has a fire sale type of ring to it and it seems like either the units were'nt moving or they are trying to clear inventory perhaps for a new Maschine to compete with the Renn but if you can afford it it's not a bad purchase as it all just comes down to personal choice and work flow. Who me? I dont jump on anybodys band wagon but i know a good deal when I see one and i have been an akai user since 97...

I use Maschine, have done for a few months now and I really like it. Was a bit of a challenge going from the MPC 500 workflow to NI's workflow, but that's a small gripe.

I find it really easy now and find beat making a lot quicker on Maschine than the 500.
Also the pads are a dream compared to the 500, couldn't comment on any other MPC pads though.

@konc3pt, make sure you get the serial number and shit with it.

that is a good deal for maschine, except that it doenst have global choke groups. i wouldent want one anyway because of that.
