Ocatrack?

don't quote me on this - but I think that the midi limitations will be sorted out in upcoming operating system upgrades.
Stick with it - do what you can - you tube is always good to at least familiarize yourself with stuff.
Other than that - well there's always e-bay.

Well sold the Octatrack

First of all, its a powerful device however, there's so many things missing and obtuse in operation that I just didn't get along with.

Small things from no count in, to no triggering via external midi devices and many other niggles that it was more a chore compensating for the issues than spending time making music.

Ahhh but the sound,the sound of it.And the size,filters ectect.Yeah but it can be completly incomprehensible.Sold mine but might just have to get another due to the fact i made some wierd stuff real quickly on it : ] Now if they could make it easy like an MPC to use-no brainer......

Yeah the form factor is nice, but its so 'quirky' in operation with many features I love in the MPC that are missing on the OT. Biggest gripe is sampling sucks compare to the MPC, there's so many buttons presses you need to make that I felt like I was programming and not producing music.

There's something to be said too with playing with pads, pressing trigs isn't the same thing either.

Going to stick to MPC, and bringing it into Ableton and using a APC40 instead
