simple but crucial shit here, thanks for the video ark. i'll be driving my 202 with the xl's sequencer and pads and probably multitrack it into my workstation simultaneously with stuff i'm triggering out of the mpc, easy integration and i can cut dubs like that ..

^^^^Good knowledge, right here. Exactly how I have my shit setup (xl+303). I use the xl for drums and the sp for samples/sample warping.....

exactly what I was thinking.. I always loved that combo though I am not running it myself but the results speak for themselves... and then you have guys like JAH saying the roland/boss SP samplers are nothing more than toys and he wouldn't want to have any sampler that amateur in his presence. (he probably has no idea it has effects)

yeah it will work with any other mpc, the steps may be a little different though.

i have a question as well though. could you use a 303/404/555/606 or whatever to effect something during a mix via an aux track, or is this something that would have to be re-sampled to get the efx on your drums/samples?

also, can you change the pre-delay on the reverb of the sp's?

I'm not sure I understand exactly what your asking, but you do not need to necessarily resample into the sp if you want the effects. Sp models have an external source button that allows you to add effects to any input source as it is playing through the sp.

And you can change the pre-delay and reverb on the sp's,

Nice video....thanks for that. Been toying with the idea of picking up a 303 or 404 for the last year..might pull the trigger on one.
