furmans power conditioners

I've always had this problem with feedback and interference whenever my computer and my monitors are plugged in. it happened at my there house and it continues to happen at my newer house. The problem was cured at the old house when i plugged the monitors and my computer into outlets that were hooked up to different breakers. unfortunately in the new house every outlet in the lab is on the same breaker.

anyway, i read somewhere that a power conditioner can get rid of any terrible interference noise and feedback nonsense. Ive read great things about the fur mans power conditioners.

an experience with these getting rid of noisy plugs? any feedback would be great, cuz id love to grab a few of these rack mount strips to hook up. i can't stand this loud a** interference noise...

u know when ur getting a phone call on ur cell and u can hear that noise in your speakers before your phone rings? well thats the noise i have BUT IT DOESNT GO AWAY!

furmans are good.. but I will say one thing.. furman is a company (not a device) so check their website out and see their different models. They make several models that all do different things and protect or prevent different things. They make products that range from like 80 bucks up to 800 bucks or even several thousand bucks...

honestly, the day i bought my M-8LX it payed for itself.... it already saved me a grand or two.

Yeah, gotcha...im just lookin to get something to cut out the feedback my monitors recieve from my computer...the 8lx power condition from furman seems like it should just about do the trick.

my tidbit of advice (that's all it really is) is to quit calling it feedback.

feedback is a very specific thing and if you go into a store saying 'i want a power conditioner to stop feedback' they're gonna go

it might be noise, it might be crackle, but if its feedback it aint got NOTHING to do with your power supply.

i would suggest plugging in equipment one at a time to find the issue. it is likely your computer + audio interface.

I agree... it could be the ground on the computer (that is quite common, especially in laptops) or it could be some sort of other interference... ground loop maybe.

I've tried everything possible, plugging in everything once at a time...ive been dealing with this forever and even talked to my local music store about it. he said that laptop chargers can cause this problem as well as other computer plugs. as i stated in my post i found a solution by plugging in my computer into an outlet thats hooked up to a different breaker then my monitors. unfortunately i moved and in the new lab all the outlets are hooked up to the same breaker.

now idk what to call the noise but its terrible and very noticeable. will a power conditioner help? i was told they can.

no, i guess feedback isn't the right word.

it so;unds like electrical noise. a lot of screeching noises...and when my mac screen gets brighter the noise gets worse. its real weird and it is really p*ssing me off. the only solution if found is to plug into different breakers. but i need to find another one and these power conditioners seem to be the answer.

it is also good idea to invest in one of those computer battery backup devices.

u guys saying that thinhg posted by konc3pt will solve the problem when hooked up to my iMac?
